The 30-second game that makes your invitation unforgettable

18 July 2026 · The Playful Invite team

Every Playful Invite opens with a game. Here's why — and how we keep it delightful instead of annoying.

The reveal is the point

Psychologists call it the effort effect: small, pleasant effort makes the payoff feel bigger. A 30-second game before the reveal turns "here's our invitation" into "we made something for you — come see."

Our design rules for every game:

  • Under 90 seconds, usually under 40
  • One-hand playable — everyone opens these on a phone
  • No reading required — the game explains itself by being tapped
  • A skip button after 20 seconds — always. Grandparents, busy colleagues, impatient uncles: nobody is ever locked out of a wedding invitation.

The games so far

Make a Vector Heart — pastel bubbles drift across the screen; every pop lights a pearl on a hidden heart. When the last pearl lands, the heart pulses, confetti falls, and the invitation reveals itself.

Connect the Dots and Tie the Knot are next — one draws your reveal from numbered dots, the other lets a guest literally tie the knot for you.

Games that match your guests

The roadmap gets more personal: chess puzzles for the chess-club friends, a tiny code-fixing challenge for your engineering batch, a color-matching game for the designers, free throws for the basketball group chat. Pick the game your circle will grin at.
